Central Market
King & Queen Streets - Penn Square
Lancaster, PA

Wendy Jo's stand (shown on the right and below) is one of many in Lancaster's Central Market. Central Market is the nation's oldest publicly-owned, continuously-operated farmers market, delighting locals and visitors on the same site since the 1730's. The current Central Market, built in 1889, was designed by Philadelphia architect James Warner, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

At "Market" (as the locals call it), you'll find everything from delicious baked goods to locally-grown produce, from meats, fish, cheese and fresh flowers to local artisans' crafts. Open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from 6 am until 2 pm, you'll always find something you love at Central Market.

An ATM is available within the market -- be aware that many stands only accept cash. Parking is available by the Hager Arcade Mall (just off King Street and also accessible from Prince Street), and in the Prince Street Parking Garage.
